For companies
You do not need to build the AI.
You need it working.
Somebody on your team has been told to “figure out AI” on top of their real job. Toolbay is the other way to do it. Write down what you actually need and builders send you formal quotes with a price and a delivery date, or take something off the shelf that already works and hire a builder by the hour to wire it into your stack. Either way, your payment is held by Toolbay until you say the work is done.

Where things actually stand
Toolbay is early, and you should hear that from us
There is no bench of a thousand vetted consultants here and we are not going to pretend there is. These three numbers are read straight from the database every time this page loads.
- Open requests
- 1
- Builders bookable by the hour
- 0
- Listings on the shelf
- 56
Nobody is bookable by the hour yet, honestly. Posting a request is the path that works today: it goes on the public board where builders read it, and it is free to post and free to walk away from.
What actually protects you
Stated exactly as it works, including the edges.
Your payment is held until you approve
When you accept a quote you pay the full amount and Toolbay holds it. The builder's share only moves when you approve the delivery. If you go quiet, it approves automatically after 7 days, so builders are not stranded either. That window is yours to use.
A dispute pauses the money
Either side can open a dispute while a job is funded or delivered. That freezes the automatic approval and puts the job in front of a person at Toolbay. Resolution is handled by hand today, not by an arbitration system.
Every listing is human reviewed
Nothing reaches the catalogue unread. Listings are checked and scanned for leaked secrets before they go live, so what you buy is not an unvetted file from a stranger.
Downloads are licensed to you
Every download is licensed to the account that bought it, and text artifacts are watermarked per copy. You have a record of what you bought and the right to run it in your own stack.
Toolbay is the party holding the money, not a guarantor of the work. The hold, the approval step, and the review are what stand between you and a bad outcome. Read the scope you agree to, because that is what a dispute is judged against.
Describe the outcome. Let builders quote it.
A few sentences, a budget range, and a date. Posting is free, quotes are yours to ignore, and nothing is charged until you accept one.
